Introduced in the 1950s as the entry point to Yashica's twin-lens reflex range, the Yashica-A made a simple promise: big 6×6 negatives without the big price. It sold for roughly half the cost of the metered Yashica LM and stayed in production for more than a decade. What you give up in automation, you gain in purity. There is no light meter, no crank and no automatic frame stop. You wind with a knob, watch the frame number pass through the red window, and compose on a waist-level screen that shows the world as a glowing square. The three-element 80mm f/3.5 lens rewards stopping down to f/8 and beyond, and its Copal leaf shutter is quiet and syncs with flash at every speed. In Very Good condition, it wears more than half a century with honest marks. For the photographer ready to slow down, or the collector drawn to the classic TLR silhouette.
