Black Altarhave been releasing music which is nothing less than some unholypiece of blackest art, dark, sinister and unholy as black metal isintended to be, since 1998. The first five hymns on this album werewritten in devotion to self sacrifice and were intended to bereleased as a split mini album with the Swedish masters of selfpunishments, Shining. Black Altars music may be built around theirwinding guitar riffs and arpeggios and founder and vocalist mayspit and shout out his death spells with a lower-pitched variety.But these first five tracks also shows a more complex listeningexperience than some of their earlier works and they are alsoamplified by synthesized instruments, somewhat reminiscent toBeherit and Burzum. Its also good to have a crystal clearproduction which deceases the atmosphere. As a bonus on thisrelease we have the Emissaries Of The Darkened Call material whichfeatures 4 tracks that the band recorded back in 2010 and also werereleased back in 2012 as a split album with Varathron andThornspawn.
