Safe trade

Orders with higher amounts go through our Safe Trade system. We have this system to ensure that everyone feels safe when shopping on Tradera, even for higher amounts. Here you can read more about how it works.

The payment is secured

The buyer’s payment is secured with us. Now the parcel should be shipped or collected as usual.

On the way

With Tradera shipping, you can easily follow your package in the order details under Your sold items or Your purchases.

Buyer needs to confirm

Once the buyer has picked up the package, they have up to 48 hours to confirm delivery.

The seller gets paid

When the buyer has confirmed, or if the time has expired, the seller receives the money in their wallet on Tradera.

This is an automated process. Therefore, we don’t respond to messages in the thread as long as everything is working as expected. If something goes wrong with the transaction, we’ll review the case manually.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • If the shipping was booked via Tradera: Send the item as usual. Once the buyer picks up the parcel, they can confirm that everything is in order, and the payment will then be released to you.
  • For in-person pickup: Ask the buyer to go to their messages on Tradera and confirm receipt by clicking “Yes, everything is ok.” The payment will be approved immediately and appear under Your balance.
  • If the shipping was booked outside Tradera: You’ll receive a message from us asking you to provide the tracking number and carrier so we can track the shipment and inform the buyer. Within 72 hours of the buyer collecting the item, a prompt will be sent asking them to confirm delivery.

When is the payment released? The buyer’s payment is transferred to your Tradera balance as soon as we see that the item has been received – either when the buyer confirms it themselves, or shortly after the tracking shows it was delivered.

What if the item has already been handed over in person? If pickup has already occurred, you can contact the buyer and ask them to approve the payment. You can also send them a reminder via Tradera by marking the item as collected:

Your sold items > Mark as collected

What happens if you don’t respond to Tradera? If you don’t provide the requested information and we cannot clearly see that the item has been sent or handed over, we will refund the buyer after a manual review.

As a buyer, you’ll be prompted to approve the transaction once you’ve received the item - or report if something went wrong.

When it’s time to confirm receipt, you’ll get a message from Tradera, usually when the seller marks the item as sent or when tracking shows that it has been delivered. You’ll then choose one of the following:

  • Yes, everything is ok - if you’ve received the item and everything matches the description.
  • Yes, but something is wrong - if the item doesn’t match the description. If you added our Buyer Protection at checkout, you’ll be redirected to start a case.
  • No - if you haven’t received anything at all.

What if you don’t respond? If we don’t hear from you despite reminders, the case will move to manual review. If there’s proof the item was delivered, the payment will be released to the seller.

Sometimes a seller’s account is temporarily suspended or restricted while a transaction is under review. This doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a problem with your specific purchase.

Common reasons include:

  • The seller needs to verify their identity or other account details
  • There are suspected rule violations or an unusually high number of complaints
  • The seller has unpaid fees or other account-related issues

Purchases and sales on Tradera are generally binding. To cancel a purchase, both parties must agree that the transaction should not be completed.

If you both agree, you can contact our customer service at tradera.com/support and we’ll help you further.
